Seeing a lot of fake reviews for eyelash growth serums...what actually works?!

Grandelash is the only lash serum I’ve used but I recommend it time and time again. From my experience, within a week or two of consistent use I noticed a difference in the strength of my lashes. They would keep a curl throughout the day no matter what mascara I used. Maybe a month or so afterward, my lashes grew much longer and I would get questions asking what mascara I used and/or if they were extensions... NEVER got those questions prior to using Grandelash. FINALLY, after using it for two months or so (and continued longer) I noticed new lash growth, specifically on my inner corner. It’s great stuff, and a little goes a long way. It’s been a while since I’ve used it so my timeline might be off a bit. I decided to stop using it because I didn’t wanna depend on it forever although I loved the results... and it probably isn’t the only culprit but my lashes are weak and brittle now. So, that’s something I’d definitely take into consideration. YMMV.

I have to second this! Grande lash works once you properly use it! Only thing I ever tried that other people seemed to notice a difference (asking if they’re falsies) But I would agree that once you stop using it there is quite a bit of lash fallout - I think the product works but leads to some lash turnover- you know, loss and new growth. Luckily I can make a 6 month tube last closer to 8 months- a little does go a long way! Hope this is helpful!

Yes grande lash! And grande brow if you’re looking for a brow serum. I was skeptical but it works. Sometimes they have 20% off if you buy from their website .

Thank you so much, I’ve heard of Grandelash before! I’ll have to give this one a try, I appreciate it!

I recommend it too, as well as their brow serum! My lashes and brows have grown so much in about 3-4 weeks.

Agreed! Used it after having lash extensions and people still thought I had extensions. I had some slight irritation from it, but it went away. Also! The Lancôme Cils booster (lash primer) definitely helps as well.

This stuff totally works (I used it for about 2.5 years) but word of warning: keep an eye on the expiration date!! I was using mine every other night and it lasted extra long bc it was the double size that they were selling for the holidays, and one morning I woke up with huge angry red blotches all over my eyelids. I didn't realize it was caused by expired Grandelash until a few days later after my lids calmed down, I used it again 🤦🏻‍♀️ after that I realized what had happened. I haven't used it in about 6 months because I'm still dealing with flare ups but my lashes are still soft and I think pretty strong, just back to their normal length.

I’m currently on latisse and I’ve already seen a difference in just a month. A little background info on my lashes: I used lash extensions on and off for over two years and once I finally took a break this year my lashes were completely damaged. They were so thin and short I couldn’t even get a lash curler on them. Used rapid lash and babelash and it definitely helped after three months but latisse is really what’s making a difference for me.

Thank you so much! I’ve heard of Latisse and how it’s the only FDA approved lash serum. I might go this route.

Pharmacist opinion: lattise is by far the best option, and anything over the counter that may work such as products containing the ingredients dechloro dihydroxy difluoro ethylcloprostenolamide, isopropyl cloprostenate, or methylamido dihydro noralfaprostal may work as well, but be aware of the side effects which are the same or similar for all. That would be drooping of the upper eyelid, dry itchy eyes, and loss of the fat pad under the eye. Not good options for people with already sunken eyes for that reason. You also must use any of these consistently for life to maintain the growth or you will default to factory settings so to speak. A careful swipe of rogaine/ minoxidil on the eyebrows can be effective as well if that’s something you’re wanting to fill out, but same precautions apply. Rogaine works more slowly than latisse and isn’t approved for use on the eyelashes though FYI.

>You also must use any of these consistently for life to maintain the growth or you will default to factory settings so to speak But at least you return to where you started? If you stop using those products, your lashes won't be more damaged/brittle or anything because all of sudden they don't get the chemicals they used to? (Sorry if my question sounds weird, I don't know anything about pharmaceutical sciences)

The exact way the prostaglandins like latisse work on eyelash growth isn’t well known. The chemical was originally used for certain eye conditions where people have high pressure in their eyes which can lead to all sorts of issues, and they found that a pleasant side effect in these patients was increased eyelash number, length, and thickness. But it’s reversible when you stop the drug. However, if you have damaged eyelashes from extensions or other products used in the past, if you stop latisse you’ll just go back to your normal baseline state of eyelash growth. As long as you don’t continue to do extensions or use harmful products they should be healthy and happy, but if you genetically have short or sparse eyelashes they will go back to being short and sparse, but healthy if you take care of them. So in my opinion it’s a good option for temporary use to get things back to normal and help speed up the recovery process, but if you’re looking for long term gains you have to keep using it. Which means a higher likelihood of the side effects I mentioned before. Also change of iris color, contact discoloration, and darkening of the eyelid or lash line. Those things are typically reversible as well though. So there’s definitely some trade offs as with all drugs, but overall it’s a pretty safe medication and definitely gives results. Edit: and as far as castor oil goes, it may help prevent you losing eyelashes, but does not promote growth in any way

Really helpful comments! May I ask if you have anything to add about the potential iris-darkening effect of Larissa?
2 ptsAug 9, 2020
Typically it increases the brown pigmentation in the iris. The incidence is very low, ~1% from what I’ve read, and there’s an increased chance if you apply to the lower lashes or in the eye. They product is not supposed to be applied to either of those areas, upper lash line only

Thank you!!

Keep it up! I get asked all the time if my lashes are “real” or “mine” usually mid sentence. Lol, it’s so fun! I even give my extra boxes to my mom and her little lashes are longer and fuller too. I hope you have just as much success!!
